Times are great for fans who enjoy steamy YA hockey romances. After the success of Heated Rivalry, Prime Video’s Off Campus Season 1 enjoyed the same kind of spotlight and popularity. Much Like HBO Max’s Heated Rivalry, Off Campus was renewed for its second season even before its first season had premiered.
Given the audience reaction to the first season, the platform’s decision appears to be correct. In an official statement, Peter Friedlander, Amazon MGM Studios head of global TV, credited the character-driven and emotionally layered writing behind the global success of the show.
Adapted from Canadian author Elle Kennedy’s beloved book series of the same name, the official logline for season 1 on Rotten Tomatoes reads, “Love blooms between a music student and the university’s star hockey player; exploring love and the complexities of adulthood through deep friendships and enduring bonds.”
Hannah Wells (Ella Bright) and Garrett Graham (Belmont Cameli) played the leads in Off Campus Season 1 and made way for the love story that would be the focus in the next season.
When is Off Campus Season 2 coming out?
While the series was officially renewed three months before its first season dropped, there is no official update regarding the release date. However, given the early renewal, fans might not have to wait long for the next season, as creator Louisa Levy, while speaking to Variety, revealed that the writing for all the eight episodes have been completed for Off Campus Season 2. During a promotional interview with Today.com, star Belmont Cameli confirmed that the filming for Season 2 is scheduled to begin in Vancouver from Mid-May.
It should be noted here that season 1 was filmed between June and October 2025 with the series dropping on Prime Video in May 2026.
Off Campus Season 2 Expected Cast
While Prime Video has not yet officially released the cast list for Off Campus Season 2, a lot of faces from the first season is likely to return, including, Mika Abdalla (Allie Hayes), Antonio Cipriano (John Logan), Khobe Clarke (Beau Maxwell) , Stephen Kalyn (Dean Di Laurentis), and Jalen Thomas Brooks (John Tucker). Given how the finale ended in a cliffhanger, there is also the possibility of Charlie Evans (Hunter Davenport) returning in season 2 and creating tension between the blooming relationship of Allie and Dean.

While season 2 will not focus on Hannah and Garret’s love story and instead will follow another couple, much like the pattern Netflix’s Bridgeton follows every season, viewers will see both Ella Bright and Belmont Cameli return.
Explaining the decision, Louisa Levy explained in a TV Guide interview that although Hannah and Garret has gotten their happy ending, the creative team wants to explore their story further in Season 2. She added that this will allow the writers to flesh out their dynamics further — since they were only together as a real couple in Season 1 for a brief period.
With the return of all these familiar faces, there is one character who would not be coming back. As Levy herself revealed, Josh Heuston, who played Justin Kohl in season 1 is not going to be a part of the new season owing to the actor’s previous commitments.
However, Levy remains hopeful regarding the character and expressed in the TV line interview that they will try to bring Justin back in the future. In the same interview, Levy seemed keen to explore his romance with Stella, Justin’s love interest from the book in later seasons.
Besides the old returning faces, season 2 has also added new cast members. It has been confirmed that Fear Street: Prom Queen fame India Fowler is joining the second season cast as Grace Ivers, as a romantic interest of John Logan.
Prime Video also announced Hamilton alum Phillipa Soo joining the cast as Scarlett, a theatre artist- turned guest director for a play in Briar University’s drama department.
What to expect from Off Campus Season 2?
The first season of Off Campus is primarily based on Kennedy’s first book in the series, titled The Deal. However, the plot does not strictly follow the book and the makers have established that they would take creative diversions from the source material to make it better suited for television adaptation.

Therefore, even if the second season follows Kennedy’s second book, The Mistake, there is no guarantee that it would follow Grace and Logan’s love story as it is done in the book. On the other hand, the finale of season 1 makes it look like fan favorites Dean and Allie will be under the spotlight in this season. However, these are only speculations as nothing solid has yet been revealed by neither the cast members nor the creatives behind the show.
Conclusion
Within a week of its release, Off Campus has established itself as one of Amazon Prime Video’s most popular romantic dramas, and Season 2 is all set to build on that momentum in a big way. With plenty of new plotlines to be explored in the new season along with new and returning cast members, we can surely hope that Off Campus season 2 will be worth the wait.
All eight episodes of Off Campus Season 1 are currently streaming on Prime Video.
